Retreat Venue Cottages at RusTeak Living are available for different groups. The entire venue could be reserved for your next retreat.

Studios

The two studio style units with capacity for 2-3 guests have a queen size bed and futon sleeper each. The studios and other cottages have fully equipped kitchens and A/C.

Larger rooms

Other units, such as Pochote Cottage,  sleep 6-8 guests in a studio style cottage with fresh areas ventilated by fans.

Roomy Accommodations with Group-Friendly Features

To start, each of our large Guanacaste cottages is thoughtfully designed to accommodate 10 to 20 guests, making them ideal for families, friends, or retreat participants. The retreat venue cottages feature separate sleeping areas, each with bunk beds that offer both single and double occupancy. Every bunk includes a full-size bed on the bottom and a single on top, giving guests a cozy and versatile sleeping arrangement.

For added convenience, the rooms share a connected full bathroom, making it easy for everyone to freshen up and relax. Some of the rooms also come equipped with air conditioning, offering a cool and restful space after a warm day of exploration.

Just steps from the sleeping areas, you’ll find a fully equipped shared kitchen where guests can prepare meals together — perfect for bonding over coffee in the morning or a casual dinner after a day out.

What truly sets the cottages apart is their setting: surrounded by swaying palm trees, fruit trees, and the edge of a lush forest, the environment invites calm and connection. You can wander along nature trails on the property, or explore paths nearby to soak in the peaceful sights and sounds of the area.

For those planning a special gathering or retreat, the entire 5-acre gated property can be rented exclusively. With its mix of privacy and natural charm, it’s a beautiful spot for everything from wellness retreats to family reunions or creative workshops.

A large swimming pool with diving section, a shallow area, and a swim-up bar.

A wide covered dining area perfect for meals or group gatherings

Dedicated yoga and meditation room

A trail through our small on-site forest

A second full-size kitchen and cozy reading lounge inside the main building

All of this is nestled among over 100 mature mango trees, palm trees, and vibrant plant life, creating a peaceful and secure space to unwind.

A Quiet Location Close to It All

RusTeak Living is located in Cañafístula, a peaceful town about 13 km (8 miles) southeast of Tamarindo and 24 km (15 miles) west of Santa Cruz. It’s a quiet hillside area with a local restaurant, mini-market, and pool.

For larger shops and additional amenities, the towns of Veintisiete de Abril and Villarreal are just 4–5 miles away. And if you're craving some beach time, the stunning shores of Playa Avellanas and Tamarindo are just 15 minutes by car.
